Ancient Egyptian chair
The design is influence and inspired by the 11 Egyptian Gods and Goddess. Here are some of the following reasons why this could be ancient Egyptian chair:
- The legs are a representation of the Goddess 'Bastet', who is view as a cat. Using the cat paws for legs is a sign of elegant beauty and strength.
- The Golden Wings and Circle on the back chair, is a representation of the God 'Re'. Re is a bird-like creature that fly in the sky on a boat or with his wings to bring new light to the world. As well as passage at night fall for the undead to the underworld.
- Underneath the golden 'Re', we can see the rest of the Gods and Goddess. Such as Horus a Falcon, Osiris the main human-like God and the most important one, Anubis the Jackal head like God, and many more.
The Structural of this chair and how everything comes together demonstrate the ancient Egyptian was the base of this creation. Adding the Gods in certain parts of the chair to bring out its beauty tell the important of who will be sitting in this chair. The combination of dark wood and Golden highlights for structural support as well as visual pleasing.
European Chair
The design is influence by mid year European Italian style of chair. Here are some reasons why this could be Italian style chair:
- The curve arm rest with palm grip. This was known to help keep the posture of the person sitting in this chair.
- The carvings on the furniture from this era were intricate, and mythological creature commonly appeared shown in the back and top of the chair. in which in the case look like a man sitting in the same chair. Pronouncing that this chair is only for an important person because the man represent greatness that why it was carved into the chair.
The style chair I believe would be found in a court setting or in a church. the reason for this assumption is the carving and the back rest. the detail and work put in seem to be for a place of importance.
